Understanding Some Common Canine Diseases

Lupus in Dogs
Lupus is an autoimmune disorder known in dogs, and is similar to the disease in humans.  There are two types recognized in canines, systemic and discoid.   Discoid Lupus is generally to considered to be a lesser form of Systemic Lupus.

Canine Diabetes-- The Warning Signs and Treatments
Dogs are known to suffer from illnesses such as diabetes as well. The pancreas is an abdominal organ that produces digestive enzymes for the metabolism of food. Occasionally, due to illness or trauma, the pancreas either produces less insulin or none at all and the body then becomes inefficient in dealing with high volumes of glucose in the blood.

Canine Liver Disease
The canine liver is a vitally important organ, one which is involved in practically all biochemical processes and physiological pathways. As a result, when one of the many possible forms of dog liver disease arises, the consequences can be numerous and severe.
