| Dedicated to those that rescue
- a look from the other side....
He woke with a start It is quiet but I can hear
life about me Maybe if I'm good and sweet She is calling my name Time to go she says Wow food again Looks like play time She is on the phone Still talking about me I was never allowed to give
kisses She said I'm home now Oh, Please let me stay Thanks to all the rescues for all you do.
Stages of my Golden's life When you were 8 weeks – You were just a round ball of golden fur. How I laughed at your antics and sighed at your curiosity. You were warm and fuzzy and I loved it when you fell asleep in my arms. When you were 6 months old – Oh, those long legs, you looked like an awkward pre-teen. You started to show how gorgeous you were going to be. Head held high you went from cute to beautiful in a day it seems. You still slept in my arms and it still felt good. In no time at all I realized you were 2 years old – Wow, it was just yesterday I brought you through the door for the first time. How lovely you have become. I watch you running in the sun. You just glisten in the rays. I actually stopped breathing for the wonder of it all. What a gate you have. Maybe I should have shown you what a marvelous animal. You are mine and I am proud and happy. Time rolls on, we go to the vet for an annual exam and she says, hum 7 years old about mid-life – my head snaps up as in I only have 7 short years left to enjoy you. Can't be true I have not had you 7 years. It was only yesterday that I carried you through the door. Although I am happy you are healthy I am a little sad by the realization that someday you won't be by my side. Who will I lean on then? Oh, my dear friend we have so much living to do together in such a short amount of time. ou hit the big 10 – I know I am blessed to have you, I can still remember the day I saw the first white hair on your snout. I cried NO, it's too soon for that. It can't possibly be age, your too young. Now you have hundreds and you are more beautiful than you ever were. You move a little slower and there is a serenity in that. Instead of chasing and barking at the rabbits you coexist with them. Oh, my best friend you still look gorgeous in the sunlight. Your Gold still sparkles and you still sleep in my arms. In the winter of your life I look at you with love that only two friends that have lived together for years and know each other so well can know. If I get to the bridge first I will wait for you and you for me. But we will see each other again a bond like this is never forgotten my Glowing Gold friend. You make sunlight dance and rain turns into shimmering diamonds. Thank you for sharing your life your miracles your wisdom and most of all your love with me. |
